Vegas Has a Heart Joins Forces with Shaq to School to Promote Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness

Las Vegas, NV – July 16, 2024 – Vegas Has a Heart is proud to announce its participation in the annual Shaq-to-School event, held on July 10, 2024, at Monaco Middle School. The event, organized by The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation, provided an unforgettable day for local children, featuring a DJ, fun activities, school supply giveaways, and numerous vendor booths offering face painting, cotton candy, and popcorn.

Among the exciting activities, Vegas Has a Heart was honored to be part of this impactful event, dedicated to educating children and their parents about the critical issue of sudden cardiac arrest, the #1 medical cause of death in young athletes. We work to bring national attention to the importance of doing heart screenings of young athletes everywhere to ensure their safety and well-being.

The highlight of the day was when Shaquille O’Neal himself visited our booth. Shaq took the time to learn about our mission and the importance of heart screenings for young athletes. His support and interest in our cause were both inspiring and motivating.

“Being part of Shaq-to-School was an incredible experience,” said Renee Kim, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Cardiac Insight, the official ECG Provider for heart screening for Vegas Has a Heart. “We are deeply committed to our mission of helping prevent sudden cardiac arrest in young athletes, and this event provided a wonderful platform to raise awareness and engage with the community. Having Shaq visit our booth and show interest in our cause was truly special.”

Vegas Has a Heart’s mission is to offer heart screenings for all young athletes in Las Vegas, make AED accessible to all schools, and educate and train CPR. Through our educational efforts and collaborations with initiatives like Shaq-to-School, we aim to ensure the safety of our youth and prevent the tragic loss of young lives to sudden cardiac arrest.
